The Jan Nayak Ch. Devi Lal National Cricket Academy was established in 2008 at the JCD Vidyapeeth, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Digvijay Singh Chautala, a young and dynamic Sportsman, with the objective of fulfilling the long cherished dream of Jan Nayak Ch. Devi Lal Ji, former Deputy Prime Minister, to make this region not only an academic hub for imparting high quality professional and technical education, but also a centre of excellence in Sports. Taking a giant leap forward in this direction, the Vidyapeeth started this Academy to facilitate the budding Cricketers of this so far neglected region and also to bring the hidden talents to the lime-light. Its principal aim is to provide international exposure to professional and young Cricketers, which will nurture and develop their sporting skills. The Academy also aims at making use of sports to strengthen friendship and to bridge the gap between cultures and communities. The State-of-the-Art International Cricket Stadium, comprising all the facilities as per the International Standard; comparable with the best Cricket grounds of the world; capable of holding day-night International Cricket Tournaments was all geared-up in September 2008, to hold its first 11-day International League Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament. Eight Teams including those from UAE, Pakistan and Sri Lanka participated in the tournament. The overall trophy in September, 2008 was bagged by the Lahore Champs from Pakistan with Indian Air Force coming up as the runners up team. In September 2009, 2nd JCD ICL was hold and overall Trophy was bagged by Sirsa Sizzlers home Team from JCDNCA with L.I.C. coming up as runners up team. The matches were live telecast by Doordarshan.
